The previous extortionists are giving the signal, the businessmen are not paying attention

The businessmen of Mirpur were plagued by the curse of extortion for a long time. Small to large, no business was immune from the clutches of extortionists. But after the fall of the Awami League government, they are breathing a sigh of relief. Extortionists have covered their heads. As a result, traders are getting an opportunity to do business in a fee-free environment.

According to sources, Mirpur, Pallabi, Kalshi, Gabtali, Shyamoli, Kalyanpur areas were extortion sanctuaries of central Jubo League leaders. From small roadside shops to big businesses, dish lines, internet businesses, Nikhil Bahini used to collect regular fees from everything.

However, the situation has changed since August 5. The Jubo League leader and his associates have covered their heads. As a result, relief returned among the traders.

But recently, extortion is rising again. Some of the Jubo League leader's followers are trying to communicate with the businessmen in various ways and hinting for the resumption of subscriptions.

However, businessmen strongly protested these efforts. They said that they will not bow down to extortion in any way.

In this regard, an official of DMP said that the police are extremely careful to prevent extortion in the capital. If anyone indulges in extortion again, legal action will be taken against him.
