The road is submerged, traffic is stopped, two hundred tourists are stranded

Around 200 tourists are trapped in Sajek tourist center of Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati as the road has been submerged due to the hill slope coming down from upstream due to continuous rain.

On Tuesday (August 20) afternoon, the Kabakhali section of Dighinala upazila of Khagrachari-Sajek road sank. Baghaichhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shirin Akhtar confirmed the matter.

According to local sources, tourists who came to visit on Monday and Tuesday were trapped there as the only road to Sajeke was submerged.
