The Vice-Chancellors of the rest of the Universities will be appointed together: Educational Advisers

Education and Planning Advisor Professor Wahiduddin Mahmud said that educational institutions are being encroached like char encroachment, measures are being taken for this. At the time, he said, vice-chancellors will be appointed simultaneously in all the other universities, the curriculum will continue in the old textbooks, and there will be an examination system. A circular in this regard will be issued soon.

Wahiduddin Mahmud told reporters at his residence on Saturday (August 31). He also spoke about various issues including partisanship in various administrative positions of the university, corruption in building infrastructure, printing of textbooks.

The education adviser said that out of more than 50 government universities in the country, more than 40 are now without guardians. It is not only that the post of vice-chancellor is vacant in the university. Many administrative posts including vice-chancellor, treasurer are lying vacant. Earlier these posts were so partisan, no one could be found to fill the vacancies. People with high educational qualifications, administrative skills, competent from a global perspective—can't be found. This does not mean that universities do not have high quality researcher-teachers. Because of the party culture, many qualified people are working in silence; But again they are not in touch with the larger teaching community, this is also a problem.

Professor Wahiduddin Mahmud said that there has been widespread corruption in the construction of infrastructure in the university. Political patronage has created a tyrannical class of contractors who are downright terrifying. Efforts are being made to create an environment to resolve these issues. In such a situation, many qualified teachers in some universities are afraid to take responsibility after being offered the appointment of treasurer.

The education advisor said, hundreds of recommendations are coming to me from various directions. I am trying to find people as qualified as me, who can be posted, in various ways. Hope that soon we will be able to recruit in many universities. Again the post of UGC Chairman is also vacant. For that, there is a lack of guardianship in the management of private sector educational institutions. Here we propose to appoint a couple of people very quickly acceptable to all.

Education and Planning Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud said that occupation is going on in various educational institutions of the country. He said, 'We are noticing, starting from school-college to university, an anarchic or chaotic situation is being created in the educational institutions of the country like char occupation. Teachers are being insulted and humiliated. Their list is being prepared. They are forced to resign. Even in many cases teachers are using students for personal gain, that is very sad.

He said, we have instructed the local administration from the Ministry of Education to take appropriate measures and appropriate remedies for such situations.
