There are multiple murder cases in Thakurgaon with the same accused in the same incident

During the quota reform movement in Thakurgaon, there was an incident of arson and vandalism and looting and four people were killed due to fire. A case was filed over this incident. This time another case has been filed against the same accused in the same incident.

Former Water Resources Minister and former Member of Parliament from Thakurgaon-1 Ramesh Chandra Sen, former Member of Parliament from Thakurgaon-2 Mazharul Islam Sujan, District Awami League General Secretary Deepak Kumar Roy, Organizing Secretary Zulfikar Ali Bhutro and former Upazila Parishad Chairman and Sadar Upazila Awami. League president Arunansh Dutta Tito has been made an accused.

Jamaat leader Md. Fazle Alam alias Rased Thakurgaon filed a complaint in the court of learned Chief Judicial Magistrate Nityananda Sarkar on Monday afternoon. Later, the court ordered to accept the complaint as a statement.

The plaintiff in the case is Fazle Alam alias Rased Sadar upazila Harinarayanpur Mollapara area son of deceased Abdul Ghafoor.

District Lawyers Association General Secretary Intazul Islam said that the case was filed in the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court with the names of 91 people and 200 others as defendants.

The other accused in the case are – District Jubo League President Abdul Majeed Apple, General Secretary Debashish Dutt Sameer, Ruhia Thana Awami League President Partha Sarathi Sen, Sadar Town Awami League President Md Akram, Baliadangi Upazila Jubo League General Secretary Ali Aslam Jewel, Ruhia Thana Awami League General. Secretary Abu Saeed (Chikon Babu), Chairman of Sadar Upazila Begunbari Union Parishad Boni Amin, Chhatra League leader Royal Barua, District Volunteer League President Nazmul Huda Shah Apollo, Municipal Councilor Ekramudaulla Sahib,

Jubo League leader Nyara Sohel, Rajagaon Union Parishad Chairman Khademul Islam, Vanor Union Parishad Chairman Rafiqul Islam, Baliadangi Upazila Secchasebak League President Muminul Islam Bhasani, UP Chairman Akalu Donga.

According to the statement of the case, the accused kept threatening and persuading Rakibul Hasan (Rocky) along with Al Mamun, Shaon Parvez and Abu Raihan to desist from the anti-discrimination movement. And the accused planned to kill them. During the nationwide anti-discrimination movement, Rakibul Hasan Rocky, Al Mamun, Shaon Parvez and Abu Raihan started gathering at the intersection of Baliadangi-Pirganj three roads in Thakurgaon Station Road area to participate in the movement. On the afternoon of the incident, the accused Rakibul Hasan (Rocky) along with Al Mamun, Shaon Parvez and Abu Raihan were taken to the house of the accused (Saheb) as per their earlier plan. They offered money along with stopping the movement. If you don't agree to this, you start threatening. Locked them inside the house and set fire to the gas cylinder from outside.

When they got burnt, the locals rescued them and took them to Thakurgaon General Hospital. The doctor on duty Rakibul Hasan sent Rocky to Rangpur Medical College. Rakibul Hasan Rocky died at 6 am on August 10 when the doctor there sent him to the Dhaka Sheikh Hasina Burn Unit for better treatment. And Al Mamun died on the way to Dhaka from Thakurgaon. And Shaon Parvez and Abu Raihan are undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

On the other hand, another case was registered in Sadar police station last Wednesday night referring to the same incident. Former MP Ramesh Chandra Sen and former mayor of the municipality Anjuman Ara Begum Bonya were arrested and sent to jail.

Due to multiple cases in the same incident, there is a storm of discussion and criticism in the district.

And earlier last Wednesday night, a person named Zakir Hossain filed a murder case by mentioning the names of 77 people in the incident of vandalism, looting and burning of four people at Sadar police station. 200 more unidentified people have been accused in this.

The matter was contacted several times with the plaintiff but he did not receive the phone call.

However, General Secretary of the District Bar Association Intajul Islam said that a Jamaat leader named Fazle Asam Rased has filed a murder case in the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court in connection with the death of 4 people in the fire. He said that the learned court later ordered to accept the complaint as evidence.
