There is a risk of heavy rainfall in the parts of the country

The Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of rain across the country. Along with that, there is a risk of heavy rainfall in various places, the agency also said. This has been reported in the forecast for the next 72 hours from 9 o'clock today, Wednesday, Wednesday (August 28).

According to the forecast, the pronounced low pressure over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas has turned into a weak low pressure and is currently over Bihar and adjoining areas. The extension of monsoon axis extends over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, low pressure center, Gangetic West Bengal and southern Bangladesh to Assam. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay of Bengal. A low pressure is likely to develop over East Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas during the next 48 hours.

The forecast also said that today Wednesday (August 28) many places of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and some places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Barisal divisions may experience light to moderate rain/thunder with gusty winds temporarily. With that, there may be moderate heavy rainfall in some parts of the country.

Day temperatures may increase by 1-2 degrees Celsius across the country and night temperatures may rise slightly.

Tomorrow Thursday (August 29) in most places of Rangpur and Sylhet divisions; Many places of Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Chittagong divisions and some places of Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions may experience light to moderate rain/thundershowers with temporary gusty winds. Along with that, there may be moderate to heavy rainfall at some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions. Day temperatures may drop slightly in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, while temperatures may remain almost unchanged in other parts of the country. Night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country.

Friday (August 30) in most places of Rangpur and Sylhet divisions; Many places of Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Chittagong divisions and some places of Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions may experience light to moderate rain/thundershowers with temporary gusty winds. Along with that, there may be moderate to heavy rainfall at some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions. Day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country. Rainy trend may continue in extended five days.

Meanwhile, the country's highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6 am on Wednesday has been recorded in Noakhali's Maizdi. As a result, the situation in this flood-affected area has further deteriorated.
