In a head-on collision with a bus in the capital's Agargaon, a truck carrying soil lost control and rammed the P-364 pillar of the Metrorail. The front part of the truck was twisted. The incident happened on Friday (May 25) at 3:30 pm.
Quoting eyewitnesses, Kafrul police station sub-inspector (SI) Sadi Sufal said that no one was killed in the head-on collision between a bus and a dump truck full of soil. However, the driver of the bus was injured and is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. A few passengers were slightly injured but they returned to their homes after receiving first aid.
He also said that the front part of the dump truck hit the pillar number 164 of the Metrorail and got twisted. The Metrorail authority will determine the extent of the damage to the pillars of the Metrorail.
Earlier, on April 9 around 2 pm in front of the Agargaon Aviation Museum, a bus of Safety Transport lost control and rammed into pillar number 74 of the Metrorail in a race between two buses. 10 passengers of the bus were injured.
