Two arrested including the master of a women trafficking ring in Dubai

A gang has trafficked women by luring them to work in various restaurants and homes in Dubai. There, trafficked women are forced into anti-social work. Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested two people including Iti Begum, the leader of that gang.

On Friday (May 31) night, RAB-3 Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Shamim Hossain said that Iti Begum and her main accomplice Omar Fardin Khandkar alias Akash were arrested in a raid in the Bandarbazar area of ​​Narayanganj this morning.

According to RAB, preliminary inquiries and investigations revealed that the mentioned persons do not have valid licenses to export manpower. They lured teenagers from financially backward families into high-paying jobs in various restaurants and residences in Dubai. Ordinary women from different parts of the country step into their trap with the hope of going to Dubai for free and becoming financially independent. When they agreed to go to Dubai, they were sent to Shiuli Begum, the expatriate sister of the ringleader Iti Begum in Dubai. Shiuli Begum basically received the trafficked women in Dubai from the airport and took them to her and along with other accomplices subjected the women to mental and physical abuse and forced them into anti-social activities. He also threatened to kill if he refused to engage in anti-social activities and approached law enforcement.

On March 8, the gang smuggled a woman from a poor family from Bandar Thana's Jhowtala area to Dubai with the promise of a job in a restaurant. On reaching there, the woman informed her family about the fact that she did not get a job as promised and was forced to engage in anti-social activities. The woman also told her family that several women who were trafficked to Dubai were being forced into anti-social activities through torture. After receiving this complaint, RAB arrested Iti Begum and her accomplice.
