Two Sisters Get Dressed for Same Family Event, to Very Different Effect

Two sisters who dressed in polar opposite outfits for the same family dinner left the internet in stitches.

Jazz Saunders (@jazz.saunders) shared her and her sister’s outfit on TikTok. Jazz opted for a laid-back, casual look, sporting a dusky blue cable sweater, baggy denim jorts, and sneakers. Whilst her sister, Chess Saunders, went all out with a glamorous light pink two-piece outfit, featuring a mini skirt, tank top and wedged sandals.

“POV: 2 types of sisters dressed for the same family dinner,” Jazz wrote as the text overlaying of the video of the outfit check, which garnered 403,100 likes and 3.1 million views on TikTok.

The sisters even matched their hairstyles to their different aesthetics. Chess wore her hair down and straight, while Jazz opted to tie half her hair up in a low, loose bun.

The humorous twist in the story came when Jazz revealed that her more dressed-up sister was actually sent back to their room to change.

Jazz’s look showcases the growing trend of prioritizing comfort over traditional going-out style.

According to a Forbes article by Kate Hardcastle, consumers are increasingly choosing comfort as their top priority when dressing.

She quoted a study which found that over eight in 10 (81 percent) of over 2,000 respondents considered comfort as the most important thing when dressing—over cost and style.

In the video’s comments, viewers enjoyed each sister’s different style and admired both looks.

Many couldn’t resist comparing Jazz’s outfit to the iconic Adam Sandler aesthetic, known for its comfort-first approach.

The Adam Sandler style, characterized by oversized clothing and casual vibes, has become a popular look that resonates with those who prioritize ease and functionality in their wardrobe choices.

The actor took over TikTok last summer as Gen Zers shared their outfits pairing baggy shorts and over-sized tees inspired by the unlikely style icon.

To dress like the Grown Ups actor, fashionistas should opt for an oversized T-shirt or polo, baggy basketball shorts, and basketball sneakers, topped off with black sunglasses.

You can also mix and match different colored sweatshirts and sweatpants with basketball shoes for another classic Sandler look, according to a WikiHow page on how to achieve his trademark look.

One user, Paige Catherine, humorously tagged her friend, commenting: “Us walking around looking like Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler.”

Others echoed similar sentiments, with Daisy noting: “No cos I live for an Adam Sandler style fit.”

Ronja added: “Left looks like she’s going clubbing, right looks like Adam Sandler. Respect on his drip.”

“I dress like the first sister for half an hour then into my comfies,” said Lyndsey.

“I get sending them to change. My husband sent our 18-year-old daughter back to put shorts on under her skirt just last week. She kept them on as well,” said one mom.

“Both look gorgeous—just different,” said one user.

Newsweek reached out to Jazz Saunders for comment via TikTok. We could not verify the details of the case.
