US position has not changed on elections: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that the position of the United States has not changed on January 7 elections.

He said this to a question from journalists after the public forum meeting with BNP's Linajo Committee at Khaleda Zia's political office in Gulshan in the capital on Wednesday.

The BNP Secretary General said that the United States is maintaining relations with the current government to protect diplomatic interests, but the United States remains in its previous position on the issue of elections, they are not against the wishes of the people.

He said that the people of the country have boycotted the elections. They did not go there to vote. People want elections under a non-partisan neutral government. At that time, he pointed out that the government is arbitrary and said that the government has adopted all kinds of evil tactics to stay in power. Fakhrul also alleged that the entire country has become a one-party state.

In order to finalize the new strategy of the simultaneous movement, the Liajo Committee held a first round meeting with a section of the Gano Forum and the People's Party at the BNP Chairperson's Gulshan office. It was presided over by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. In the second phase, there is a meeting with the leaders of six other parties besides the Democracy Manch.
