US school gun attack again, 4 dead

At least four people have been killed in a gunman's attack at a high school in Georgia, USA. Nine others were injured.

According to the report of the influential US media, CNN, the attack took place inside the Apalachi High School in Winder, Georgia, on Wednesday morning (September 4) local time.

According to a CNN analysis, there have been 45 gun attacks in the country through September of this year, including the most recent attack at Apalachee High School.

A Georgia police official said a teenager has been taken into custody as a suspected gunman. His age is said to be 14. All schools in the region are under lockdown. Police security has been beefed up in schools with extensive vigilance.

Some of the seriously injured have been evacuated by helicopter and additional helicopters are on standby, police said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), an investigative agency, says it has prevented a shooting at a high school. A suspect has been taken into custody.

Law enforcement agencies are on scene, the GBI said. Please do not attempt to come to school at this time.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp said on social media that agencies are taking action. US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden have condemned the school shooting. In a statement, the Biden couple said, “We cannot accept one incident after another as normal.”
