Patuakhali's Bhuria and Kamalapur union parishad elections today. After the start of voting through ballot at 8 in the morning, it will continue till 4 in the afternoon.
In Bhuria union, 4 candidates, 9 reserved members, 25 general members and 3 chairman, 8 reserved members, 26 general members are contesting in Kamalapur union. About 28,000 voters will exercise their voting rights in 18 polling stations in these two unions.
Besides, 8 policemen and 17 Ansar members will perform full-time duty in each center including District Administration Executive Magistrate, RAB, BGB.
Patuakhali Sadar Upazila Election Officer Sarmin Sultana said that all preparations have been completed to make the election free and fair. We hope that the voting will be completed peacefully without any untoward incident.
