What BCB president said about Shakib Al Hasan

BCB President Farooq Ahmed said about star cricketer Shakib Al Hasan accused of murder case, 'You know a case has been made. We haven't received the legal notice yet, so can't say about that. The case has been FIR, investigation will be done after FIR. Then the case will go in one direction. As the test match is going on right now, tomorrow is the fifth day of the test. At this moment we did not think of taking any stand. I thought we will sit down and take a decision after tomorrow's match.'

He said these things in response to a journalist's question at the end of an informal meeting with the board directors at the Mirpur Sherebangla Stadium BCB office on Saturday (August 24). However, Farooq Ahmed also said that they have heard that they have also sent a legal notice to BCB to exclude Shakib, the accused in the murder case, from the national team and bring him back to the country for the sake of investigating the case.

In response to the questions of the journalists in this regard, the BCB president said, 'When the FIR is filed, the charges are not formed against him. It is very difficult to decide before this. A few days ago there was a huge riot, many lives were lost. We still have compassion, but we have not forgotten. Test match is going on right now. Shakib's relationship with BCB can be called player and employee. I can decide after tomorrow.' Later he also said, 'Shakib has no obstacle to play now. Can't withdraw in the middle of a match.'

On the question of who is coming in charge of the cricket management department, Farooq Ahmed said, 'Everything is there. Not just the chairman. But no work is stopped. The rest (who will get which committee) will be done very soon.'

Farooq Ahmed also informed about BCB's decision to give 1 crore taka and 3000 food packets to help flood victims in different parts of the country.
