When will this government – said Dr. Yunus

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled the country in the popular uprising of students. Harassment and oppression during his regime. Muhammad Yunus became the chief adviser to the interim government. There is no end to speculations and stories around which. Especially the discussion-criticism is intense – how long the government will stay or when it will go.

Muhammad Yunus said, everyone is interested to know about one thing, when our government will leave. The answer is in your hand, when will you bid us farewell. We are not the people to rule the country. We find joy in our respective professions.

He said that during the crisis of the country, we have accepted the responsibility of the interim government on the call of the students. We will fulfill this duty with all our strength. Our advisory board is also motivated to work as a team towards this goal. When the elections will be held is a purely political decision, not our decision. Citizens have to decide when you will leave us.

The chief adviser said, we have come at the call of the students. They are our primary employer. The vast masses of the country have supported our appointment. We will constantly remind everyone about this so that the question does not suddenly arise when we will go. We will leave when they say so. We will also reform the Election Commission as part of the reforms. I will keep the commission ready for ideal selection at any time.

Dr. about reforms. Yunus said, we have started various reforms. I would request the countrymen, to start a discussion, we will complete the minimum work, what work should be done roughly. Through this discussion we can get a direction. But the final decision is a political decision. Political decisions will come from political discussions. Without this guidance, we cannot move forward firmly in negotiations with donor governments and international economic institutions.

He said, I assure you that we will not raise any question of tenure extension from our side. We ask for your prayers. In the days that I am here, each of the members of the advisory board should use their talents to the best of their ability during this crisis of the country, to overcome the crisis. We want to make sure of that. If we lose this opportunity now, we will be defeated as a nation.

Chief Adviser said, we want to remain committed to the martyred, injured and living students, we will not let this achievement be lost. We have vowed to make our country a respectable, example-setting country in all corners of the world through the opportunities they have given us. In the end, I am asking for prayers from all the people of our country, children, teenagers, youth, elderly, old, women, men, that we all succeed in realizing our dreams.
