Jennifer Lopez’s $90 million Las Vegas residency is reportedly in jeopardy due to disappointing sales of her new album and upcoming tour.
The 54-year-old singer, whose marriage to Ben Affleck is reportedly strained, had been negotiating with MGM Grand for a $1 million per show deal. However, poor ticket sales for her This is Me… Now tour have caused casino executives to reconsider, as reported by a source to the New York Post.
Lopez’s tour has seen several cancellations due to low demand, and her album, also titled This is Me… Now, and its poor performance further complicates the residency deal. Variety has reported the cancellation of seven shows in cities like Atlanta, New Orleans, and Houston. MGM is reportedly concerned about her ability to fill seats given the struggles to sell tickets for her current tour.

“MGM is watching her not doing well on the road. They are very nervous… It’s pretty rare you have a poor tour and then go to Vegas,” revealed the source.
Lopez has a history of successful residencies, having grossed $101.9 million at Caesars Palace’s Planet Hollywood between 2016 and 2018. Despite this, her latest project is struggling, raising doubts about the $90 million residency’s feasibility.
Additionally, her marriage to Affleck, 51, appears to be on shaky ground, with the couple not being seen together as of late and Affleck missing the Met Gala, the premiere of her latest film, Atlas, as well as other events. This has fueled further speculation about their relationship status.
Lopez’s manager Benny Medina had initiated the Vegas residency talks before the release of her album and its accompanying film in February 2024. Given the recent setbacks, the “Let’s Get Loud” singer might have to settle for a reduced deal, possibly earning $600,000 to $650,000 per show for fewer performances, said the source. This situation is a stark contrast to her previous successful run in Las Vegas.
Lopez’s team and MGM have yet to comment on the ongoing negotiations.
