Women truck driver in Bangladesh with goods from India

A woman truck driver has arrived at Benapole port in Bangladesh for the first time with a cargo truck from Andhra Pradesh, India.

Arnapoorna Rajkumar entered Benapole port on Sunday afternoon with fabric products.

The Indian exporter of the goods Tijoy India Put Limited and the Bangladeshi importer Mondal International Limited have confirmed the matter.

They said, this consignment contains 213 rolls or 5 thousand 463 kg of Genji (fabrics).

According to local and port sources, the Indian woman truck driver came to Bangladesh for the first time with import-export goods. People flocked to the port area to see him.

Truck driver Arnapurna said, My husband is a truck driver. We both work in the same truck. My husband also came with me. It is very good to come to Bangladesh by driving a truck. The environment of Benapole port in Bangladesh gave me relief. I like the environment of this country very much.

Meanwhile, Mohsin Milon, president of Import-Export Association of Benapole port, thinks that another step has been taken in the awakening of women in this journey to Arnapurna.

Sajedur Rahman, General Secretary of Benapole C&F Staff Association, said that this is the first time an Indian woman truck driver came to Benapole port from India. Arrangements are being made to release the goods of the cargo truck on a priority basis. Customs and port authorities are sincere.
