A writ has been filed in the High Court to ban and cancel the registration of Bangladesh Awami League for the indiscriminate killing of students.
Executive Director Arifur Rahman Murad Bhuiyan filed the writ on Monday (August 19) on behalf of the human rights organization Sarda Society. In the writ, the names of the institutions which are in Sheikh Hasina's name have also been sought.
Besides, the writ sought a minimum 3-year term for the current interim government to reform the country. Along with this, it has been requested to bring back 11 lakh crores smuggled abroad and to transfer the officials who were appointed on contractual basis during the previous Awami League government.
The writ petitioner Arifur Rahman Murad Bhuiyan said that rules and orders have been sought in these matters of the writ.
The High Court bench headed by Justice KM Asaduzzaman will hear the writ petition.
