Common students protested to demand the trial of Kankan Biswas, a student of Biomedical Engineering Department of Jessore University of Science and Technology (Yabiprobi) in session 17-18, for making obscene and provocative comments about Islam on social media Facebook.
The protest started from the university's main gate on Saturday (September 7) and ended in front of the administration building. After the protest, they submitted a memorandum to the registrar of the university seeking appropriate punishment.
It is said in the memorandum that it is very important to bring Kankan Biswas, a student of biomedical engineering department of Jessore University of Science and Technology, session 17-18, under punishment for making unacceptable and obscene talk about Islam on social media. We strongly demand the permanent expulsion of such religious instigators and obscene blasphemers. Such controversial comments on social media make us sad and we common students don't feel safe.
The students in the human chain said, Kankan Biswas Yabi Prabi is a Kulangar in history. He made very offensive insults about Islam, which is very sad for us. Muslims, Hindus, Christians are living as brothers in Bangladesh. We will live as brothers in the future. No one will dare to taunt any religion in the future.
