Rupganj, Narayanganj centered on the spread of dominance in the conflict between two groups. A young man named Deen Islam (23) was killed. At least 18 people from both sides were injured in this incident.
The clash took place in the Naora area of ββKayetpara Union of the upazila on Thursday (June 6) evening.
Deceased Deen Islam is the son of Millat Hossain of Naora area. The injured are β Naora area Zahid Mia, Md. Sohail, Shaheen, Zahidul Islam, Aminul Islam, Rajeev, Hossain Mia, Nazmul Pradhan, Jasmine, Eva, Wasim and Sakhawat. The injured have been admitted to various local hospitals including Rupganj Upazila Health Complex.
Police and locals said that the dispute between Rupganj Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Mizanur Rahman and Mosharraf Hossain has been going on for a long time. Because of that dispute, supporters of both sides often clashed.

Clashes continued between the two sides until seven o'clock. Meanwhile, several people on both sides were shot and injured. Deen Islam was shot dead among them.
Mosharraf Hossain's mobile phone was repeatedly called to inquire about this, but he did not respond. Later, when contacted, Nazmul Pradhan, cousin of Musharraf and uncle of the deceased Deen Islam, said that on Thursday afternoon, three to four hundred people led by Mizanur Rahman suddenly attacked the house of Musharraf Hossain and Nazmul Pradhan with weapons. Clashes broke out when Musharraf's men blocked the attack. Deen Islam, who was injured in the shooting, died on the way to the hospital.
Nazmul said that the police did not stop the attackers during the shooting, Mizan Upazila Vice Chairman. The police did not stop him during the attack. They were silent. Mizan himself is shooting my nephew (Deen Islam) in front of the police.
However, Mizan denied the allegations and said that he heard that Musharraf's men clashed with the villagers. One of Musharraf's men was killed. He does not know the details of the incident as he is not in the village.
Deepak Chandra Saha, OC of Rupganj Police Station, said members of the Naora Police Outpost were there at the time of the incident.
They tried to control the situation. After receiving information, we went to the spot from Rupganj police station. At least 12 rounds of shotgun fire were fired to bring the situation under control. The allegation of police laxity is completely false.
The OC said that there was no case in this incident till 9 pm, the area is calm now. Additional police have been deployed in the area to control the situation. Legal action in this regard is under process.
