1 killed, 3 arrested in gang thrashing on suspicion of dacoity in Savar

A person named Mojibur (50) has died in a mob thrashing on suspicion of dacoity in Savar, Dhaka. Three more people were arrested and handed over to the police station.

The incident took place on Tuesday (August 20) morning in Rajalakh Farm area of ​​Savar Municipality.

The deceased Mujibar was a resident of Gray village of Uthuli police station in Manikganj district. He lived in Arapara Mahalla of Savar Municipal Area.

The arrested are Zainal Abedin (15) and Shipon (15), the tenants of Khokon's house in Bank Colony Mahalla of Savar town area and Babu's son Sohan (17) of the town area.

Eyewitnesses said that in the morning, four suspected thieves and robbers were arrested and gang washed. Later, when they were taken to Savar Upazila Health Complex Hospital, doctors declared one dead. Besides, three others were handed over to Savar Model Police Station.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Savar Model Police Station Atiqur Rahman said, 'One person has died in the thrashing. Three others have been handed over to the police station. The police officer said that legal action against them is under process.
