4th DC Book Fair: 26th and 27th August 2023 Washington Holiday Inn, Sterling Virginia. Friday 18th August 2023. Officials of the DC Book Fair have confirmed that the 4th DC Book Fair will be held over two days on August 26 and 27, 2023, Saturday and Sunday. The venue for the event is the Washington Holiday Inn Hotel in Sterling, Virginia. Note that the first DC Book Fair was held in 2018. The 4th DC Book Fair is going to be held this year after being closed for the last two years due to the Covid outbreak. About 1,000 new books are expected to be displayed at the event. Seven publishing houses, including Muktdhara, will participate in the exhibition. Ekushey Padak awardee eminent dramatist, director, actor Mamunar Rashid will be present as special guest. There is no entry fee to the fair. Daily program will start at 10 am and end at 10 pm. While explaining the purpose of the DC Book Fair, an official of the book fair, Dastagir Jahangir, said, 'Our purpose is to maintain the contact of Bengali books and literature with American Bengalis and to create a link between Bengali books and literature with the new generation'. Apart from the book exhibition, the book fair will have folk performances, children's drawing sessions, theater workshops.Twenty dollars is charged to secure a seat to attend the two-hour theater workshop.
