1 killed in mob thrashing while asking for 'donation'

Extortion in Kahalu, Bogra, member of the Atavahini discussed. A terrorist named Rakib Hossain (40) was killed in the lynching.

A police officer said, Vipul was supposed to get married to the daughter of Phonindranath of Shiva Kalma Hindupara area. But instead of marrying Vipul, Phonindra got his daughter married elsewhere. Meanwhile, the girl came to visit her father's house from her father-in-law's house.

After receiving the news, Vipul went to the girl's house with 7/8 people including Ata. They went there and demanded 10 lakh rupees from Fonindra. Later Fonindra agreed to pay two thousand rupees. Hearing this, the people of the Ata army started hitting the nearby houses with sharp weapons. At that time, a person named Shakha went and protested, and all the soldiers hit him with sharp weapons.

At that time, all the residents of the area came together to resist the army. Later everyone ran away but Rakib was caught and beaten up by the locals. Rakib died in this.

The OC of Kahalu police station said that Rakib's body was recovered and sent to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (Shajimek) hospital morgue. Legal action is under process in this incident.
