At least 10 workers were burnt in an explosion in a shipbreaking yard in Tentultala Kashem Jute Mills area of ​​Sonaichari in Sitakunda Upazila of Chittagong. The incident took place on Saturday (September 7) around 11:30 am.

Assistant Secretary of Bangladesh Ship Breakers and Recyclers Association (BSBRA) Nazmul Islam confirmed this to the media.

He said, the cause of the explosion has not yet been ascertained.

Chittagong Medical College Hospital Police Outpost Deputy Inspector Alauddin Talukder told the media that 10 injured people have been admitted to the hospital.

Assistant Secretary Nazmul Islam said, they have arrived in Chame to ensure proper treatment of the injured.

However, the identity of the injured could not be confirmed immediately.
