Due to torrential downpours and heavy rains from India, severe flooding has occurred in the southern part of the country. Incessant rains have caused waterlogging almost everywhere in Lakshmipur. About 650,000 people are stuck in water. In some places there is knee-deep water and in some places there is waist-deep water. In this, the prevalence of snakes has increased. In the last 10 days, 112 people have been bitten by snakes in different parts of the district.

According to the Civil Surgeon's office, large areas in Laxmipur Sadar, Raipur, Ramganj, Ramgati and Kamalnagar upazilas are under water. The snakes in the hole have spread in the locality. These upazila residents are spending their days in fear as the flood water has not subsided at all.
