Brigadier General (Retd.) M Sakhawat Hossain, Adviser to the Ministry of Shipping and Textiles and Jute, said that till now I used to hear stories of development only in the name of Padma Setu and Mettorel. Now I see more problems inside. 15 years is not a problem, was too busy with flattery. He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the exchange meeting organized with the officers and employees at the head office of the organization on Sunday (September 1) regarding various problems of Bangladesh Jute Mill Corporation (BJMC).

On this day in the meeting, various problems of BJMC were highlighted on behalf of BJMC Officers Association. Along with this, the consultant was requested to solve the problems like closure of mills, delay in job assimilation and non-payment of salaries. Later, advisor Sakhawat Hossain said, 'I came to BJMC and learned about all the problems related to not getting jobs and salaries, it is disappointing. I will do my best to solve it.'

Before this, the secretary of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute said in the speech of the special guest. Abdur Rauf briefly highlighted the various initiatives taken by the Ministry to eliminate the overall problems of BJMC. Chairman of BJMC Farooq Ahmed presided over the event and senior officials of Textile and Jute Ministry, directors of BJMC, advisors and all levels of officials and employees were present.

Later in the afternoon, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of Bangladesh Jute Mills Association on various problems of jute sector and jute industry. At this time, the advisor. Abul Hossain, chairman of BJMC, highlighted other issues including the abolition of 2 percent source tax on raw jute besides declaring jute as an agricultural product to M Sakhawat Hossain.
