20 injured in clash over cricket game in Narail


At least 20 people were injured in a clash between residents of two villages over a cricket game in Narail's Kalia upazila. The injured have been admitted to Upazila Health Complex and Sadar Hospital.

On Saturday (April 13) morning, the clash took place between the parties of Sheikh Farid Uddin and Nasir Uddin in Babra village of Babra-Hachla Union of the upazila.

According to the police and local sources, on Friday afternoon in Babra Government Primary School field, Syed Shahid Ali's son Sohag and Nabil, son of Imrul Sheikh on the other side, had a fight and a fight over the cricket game. They were later stopped by others in the field. As a result of this incident, two sides clashed on Saturday morning. About 20 people were injured.

Kalia police station officer in-charge (OC) Khandkar Shamim Uddin said that additional police have been deployed in the area. The situation is calm now. Action will be taken as per law if complaints are received.
