21 people died in dengue in 7 days – Bangladesh Diplomat

The prevalence of Aedes mosquito-borne disease dengue is increasing in various cities of the country including the capital Dhaka. According to the dengue report of the Health Department, 21 people died of dengue this week (Saturday-Friday), compared to 11 in the previous week.
Apart from this, 4 thousand 224 people were admitted to hospital due to dengue this week, which was 3 thousand 237 last week.
According to last week's statistics, three deaths and 548 hospitalizations were reported due to dengue on September 14, one death and 486 hospitalizations on September 15, one death and 267 hospitalizations on September 16, five deaths and 872 hospitalizations on September 17, six deaths and 865 hospitalizations on September 18. John Hospital, there were three deaths and 887 hospitalizations on September 19 and two deaths and 299 hospitalizations on September 20.
So far this year, 22 thousand 266 people have been admitted to hospital due to dengue. Among them, 19 thousand 577 people got clearance. 124 people died.
It should be noted that in the history of the country in 2023, 3 lakh 21 thousand 179 patients were affected by dengue and 1 thousand 705 people died.
Generally, the post-monsoon period, i.e. August to October, is called the 'peak season' of dengue. According to rainfall, humidity, temperature, density of Aedes mosquitoes, September may be the peak dengue outbreak, entomologists and infection experts believe. Analysis of the data showed that the 'peak season' of dengue occurred five times in the month of September in the country in the last decade. Peak season occurs three times in October, once in November and once in August.
