25 injured in clash between two groups of A.League in Saltha


There has been a clash between two groups of Awami League over the spread of dominance in Faridpur's Saltha. At least 25 people were reported injured. Of these, 20 people have been admitted to various hospitals in Faridpur.

The incident took place on Saturday (April 13) afternoon in Mazhardia village of Mazhardia union of the upazila. On receiving the information, the police went to the spot and brought the situation under control by firing blank shots from the shotgun.

Eyewitnesses and locals said that upazila Awami League vice-president former UP chairman Habibur Rahman Hamid and another vice-president of upazila Awami League former UP chairman Md. Sahiduzzaman Sahid's conflict was coming. As a result, hundreds of people from both groups clashed with indigenous weapons on Saturday afternoon. About 25 people were injured.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Saltha police station Mohammad Faizur Rahman said that after receiving the information, the police reached the spot and fired 17 rounds of shotgun blanks to bring the situation under control. Additional police have been deployed in the area since the incident. Two separate cases are being filed in this incident.
