3 youths of Madaripur died in trawler sinking on the way to Italy

Three youths of Madaripur died in trawler sinking while going to Italy illegally. Local media confirmed this on Wednesday (September 4).

The victims of the trawler sinking are – Milan and Al-Amin, two youths of the same family from East Pubali village of Gopalpur, Dasar upazila of Madaripur, and Shanto Khan, son of Khalil Khan of the same village.

According to local sources, the local broker and UP chairman Farhad Molla mistakenly said that he would send Italy through Libya illegally in exchange for Tk 15 lakh. Those three youths of Madaripur risked their lives and left the country through the brokers' circle to remove the poverty of the family and bring back financial solvency.

Although they left for Italy seven months ago, they have not been found for the past three months. A young man named Israfil, who was detained by the police in Libya, said that he died in the sinking of a trawler while going to Italy by sea three months ago. Meanwhile, two families are mourning after hearing this news.

Milon and Al-Amin's mother said, “We risked our lives to bring a smile to the face of the family, sold land, borrowed money and went to Libya, but our dream of going to Italy was not fulfilled. We want our Milan and Al-Amin back.”
