MSF report
In May this year, 324 women and children were victims of violence. Which is 46 more than April. In addition to violence against women and children, election-related violence increased in May, according to the Human Rights Culture Foundation (MSF).
The organization informed this information in a report on Friday (May 31).
The organization prepared this report based on the reports published in various daily newspapers of the country. Every month this report highlights the human rights situation in the country.
They say, 53 rapes, 16 organized rapes, two murders after rape took place in May. In addition, 23 attempted rapes, 36 sexual assaults and 39 physical assaults took place. In all there were 324 cases of torture. Earlier, the number of torture incidents in April was 278.
On the other hand, according to the MSF report, 35 journalists were subjected to violence in May, six were charged under the Cyber Security Act. Four people were killed in six mob lynchings during the same period. And 51 unidentified bodies have been recovered.
Apart from this, three people died in the custody of law and order forces and 11 people died in prison custody.
In May, six people died in 97 violence related to the upazila elections. Apart from this, six more people died in 29 incidents of political violence. 69 people were arrested.
