At least 40,000 Rohingyas are waiting to enter Bangladesh in Manipara, Sikdarpara and Airpara areas of Mangdu, Myanmar. Besides, at least 500 Rohingyas entered Bangladesh from Myanmar in one day on Saturday (September 7). Earlier on Friday, another two hundred people came through the border of Cox's Bazar. At least eight thousand Rohingyas have come through Ukhia and Teknaf border in the last two weeks.
The escaped Rohingyas said that amid the ongoing conflict in Myanmar's Rakhine state, they are entering Bangladesh and taking shelter in the Ukhia-Teknaf camps, avoiding the eyes of law and order forces at the border. Mohammad Zaker escaped from Myanmar on Friday and took shelter in Camp-1. He said, after two days of waiting at the border, five people including wife and children crossed the border and came to the camp.
Sabbir Ahmed escaped from Myanmar and took shelter in B-Block of Camp-1 on Saturday. He said that he came to Bangladesh through Jadimura border area of Teknaf with his two daughters and wife. They have fled with their families to save their lives.
Residents and public representatives of the border area said that the Teknaf Upazila of Bangladesh flows through the Naf river, which is four kilometers wide, opposite (to the west) Mangdu township in Rakhine. In the dark of night, Rohingyas from Sudapara, Faizipara, Sikdarpara and Nurullapara villages of Mangdu township are crossing the Naf river and entering Bangladesh. Most of the Rohingyas are entering Bangladesh through Jadimora, Damdamia, Keruntali, Baritli, Nightongpara, Jaliapara, Nazirpara, Moulvipara, Nayapara, Shahpari Island, Jaliapara, Mistripara, Gholarchar, Khurermukh, Alir Dale, Maheshkhaliapara, Lambri, Tulatli, Rajarchhara, Baharchhara border and coast. .
Main Uddin, Assistant Superintendent of Police of 16 Armed Police Battalion (APBN), who is in charge of the security of the Teknaf refugee camp, said that some Rohingyas have entered the refugee camp. They are being monitored. Strict security measures have been taken in the shelter camp so that no new Rohingyas can enter.
