San Francisco 49ers star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has been medically cleared to practice on Wednesday.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch both spoke to reporters ahead of practice, and said Aiyuk, who’s been dealing with back and neck injuries, has finally been cleared to rejoin the team.
The question still remains, though: Will he?

“Hope so. Haven’t gotten to see him today. I hope so,” Shanahan said. “I know he’s been cleared by his doctors so I hope he’s out there practicing today.”
“He has been cleared and we’re ready to roll,” Lynch added.
Why wouldn’t Aiyuk practice for the first time this training camp?
He remains in a contract hold-in as he seeks a new deal before entering his fifth and final year of his rookie contract.
Would Aiyuk get fined if he doesn’t return to practice on Wednesday?
“Then we’ll deal with that,” Lynch said.
