On the one month anniversary of the fall of the 'dictator' Sheikh Hasina in the mass uprising of the students, the 'Shahidi March' of the students was celebrated in the memory of the martyrs by organizing the anti-discrimination student movement.
On Thursday (September 5) at 3:30 in the afternoon, the students started the Martyr's March from in front of the anti-terrorist Raju sculpture of Dhaka University (DU). Students and common people from various universities, colleges, technical schools, madrasas and schools of Dhaka along with Dhaka University participated.
The march started from University's Raju Bhaskar and passed through Neelkhet-ScienceLab-Kala Bagan-Parliament Bhavan-Farmgate-Carwan Bazar-Shahbagh-Raju Bhaskar to meet at Shaheed Minar.
Anti-discrimination student movement coordinator Abu Bakr Majumder said that the students have made five demands from the Martyr March program.
The demands are—
1. Genocide should be quickly arrested and brought to justice.
2. Financial and legal support to the families of the martyrs should be provided as soon as possible.
3. The accomplices of the corrupt and fascists in the administration should be identified and brought to justice immediately.
4. Ganobhaban to declare July Memorial Museum.
5. Roadmap for restructuring of the state should be announced soon.
