8 thousand guests including 7 heads of government are staying at Modi's swearing-in ceremony


Narendra Modi is going to take oath as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive term on Sunday (June 9) at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina along with 7 foreign leaders and 8 thousand guests will attend the event. All arrangements for the event have already been completed. For this reason, security has been strengthened in the capital Delhi.

This information was informed in a report of the Indian media Hindustan Times on Saturday (June 8).

According to the Indian media, the President of India Draupadi Murmu will administer the oath to Narendra Modi and other members of the Union Cabinet as the Prime Minister on Sunday (June 9) at 7:15 PM. A high level of alert has already been put in place in the capital Delhi to ensure that the swearing-in ceremony goes smoothly.

Ahead of Modi's swearing-in, a multi-layered security system is being deployed at the Rashtrapati Bhavan with five companies of paramilitary personnel, NSG commandos, drones and snipers.

A no-fly zone has been declared in Delhi to prevent any criminal or terrorist threat during the swearing-in ceremony. The restrictions will be in effect from June 9 to 10.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already reached Delhi to attend Modi's swearing-in ceremony. Besides Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Maldives President Mohammad Muijju, Sicily Vice President Ahmed Afif, Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnath, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kumar Dahal will participate in the swearing-in ceremony. And the total number of guests invited to this oath ceremony will be eight thousand.

Additional security measures have also been taken at the hotel, including special protocols for foreign guests. Named hotels like Leela, Taj, ITC Maurya, Claridge's and Oberoi are covered under special security. Guests will proceed from the hotel to the venue via a designated route. Various road closures and diversions are expected during this time. Besides, strict surveillance has also started at the border.

Narendra Modi's new cabinet is expected to have 27 to 30 members, with about one-third coming from the NDA alliance. A few state ministers may also be present.

Note that according to NDTV report, NDA got 293 seats and India Alliance got 232 seats in 18th Lok Sabha elections. Besides, other parties and independent candidates got 18 seats together.

However, BJP has won the single largest number of seats as a party. The party has captured 240 seats. Among the alliance partners, Telugu Desam Party got 16 seats and Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) from Bihar got 12 seats.

Narendra Modi will take oath as the Prime Minister of India for the third term on Sunday (June 9). He is the second Indian after Congress leader Jawaharlal Nehru to become the country's prime minister for the third consecutive term.
