BNP leader ZA Khan passed away


Retired Major General Abu Ahmed Zahirul Amin Khan (ZA Khan) passed away. He was 79 years old at the time of his death.

He passed away at his home in Gulshan of the capital on Wednesday (May 2) night.

The family members said that he will be buried in the Banani Military Cemetery after the first namaz at the Central Jame Masjid of Bad Johar Dhaka Cantonment and the second at the Gulshan Jame Masjid at Bad Asr on Thursday (May 2).

Earlier, ZA Khan was a member of BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council in the one-eleven pot change. After eleven, he became completely inactive in politics.

He was the Chairman of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society from 2001 to 2004 and Director General of Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies in 1996.

Zahirul Amin Khan (ZA Khan) was born on May 11, 1944. He joined the army in 1967. He retired from the army in 1997 and joined BNP politics.

He is survived by his wife and two sons.
