Looking forward to a tough challenge was Butler, a frustrated Scottish captain

The sixth match of the World Cup has been abandoned at the Kingston Oval in scenic Barbados on the Atlantic coast. The cancellation of the match at the beginning of the World Cup is a concern for the future. Most of the World Cup matches will be held in these Caribbean islands.

Especially as the Scots had a good day. George Munsey-Michael Jones scored 90 runs after playing 10 overs. Jones remained unbeaten on 45 and Munsey on 41. This is the highest pairing by a Scotsman in a World Cup opener. The Rain Act ultimately stands at 109.

Scottish captain Richie Berrington said: 'I think everyone is disappointed not to be able to get a game in, but there are at least some positives to take. I thought our openers did a really good job, we can take something from there.'

On the other hand, England's bowling was haphazard. Jofra Archer-Mark Wood were stingy but Adil Rashid-Chris Jordan were sloppy. All in all, the two-time world champions had a tough challenge ahead of them. Skipper Jos Buttler was hoping for just that.

'We were confident going in, obviously expecting a tough challenge. There is no easy game here, but we were confident. There was frustration between both sides and the audience.'
