Indecent comments on the student who participated in the quota movement, the teacher was dismissed

The school authorities have decided to temporarily suspend a teacher in the face of the students' movement for allegedly making indecent comments about the schoolgirls, their mothers, grandmothers and grandmothers who took part in the quota reform movement in Sherpur.

The authorities took that decision in the face of students' agitation on Sunday. That teacher's name is Kazi Akiluzzaman Apple. He is the son of Samchuzzaman of Kazibari of Baneshwardi village of Baneshwardi union. He has been working as a teacher of English subject in Nakla Pilot Model High School of Nakla Municipality for a long time.

The students complained that the teacher Apple was teaching in the tenth class of the school on Thursday morning on August 15. At that time, he addressed a female student who participated in the quota reform movement present in the class and said, 'The female students who participated in the quota reform movement are characterless. Their mother…, grandmother…, grandmother… The students of that school and the students who took part in the quota reform movement burst into excitement after the teacher's comment.

Later today, the students started protesting in the school ground demanding the expulsion of teacher Apple by boycotting the class. After realizing the situation, the headmaster of the school, Abdur Rob, held an emergency meeting in his office with members of the school management committee, teachers, the victim girl's father and some students of the quota reform movement Nakla upazila branch. After receiving the news, several army personnel appeared there. Teacher Apple was also introduced. At the meeting, Apple expressed regret for his actions and apologized to everyone present that he would not do anything like that in the future. But the father of the schoolgirl and the students of the quota reform movement are adamant in demanding the expulsion of teacher Apple. Later on Monday (August 19) in the presence of everyone in the school office, headmaster Abdur Rob assured to solve the matter. He later adjourned the meeting urging the students to go back to class.

But the students of the school did not go back to the class and took out a protest march from the school ground to the municipality with a one-sided demand to expel the teacher Apple. In the face of intense student agitation, the headmaster Abdur Rob decided to temporarily suspend teacher Apple.

The victim schoolgirl's father said, “The way teacher Apple behaved indecently and harassed my daughter is an unforgivable crime.” I want exemplary punishment for Teacher Apple.

Rayyan Al Mahadi, a student of the government Haji Zalmamood College who participated in the quota reform movement, said that we cannot accept such behavior of teacher Apple towards a female student. We want exemplary punishment including his permanent expulsion.

Nakla Pilot Model High School Headmaster Abdur Rob said that the decision to temporarily suspend the accused assistant teacher Kazi Akiluzzaman Apple was taken after talking to the president of the school management committee. Later, the complaint will be investigated and necessary action will be taken.
