Accused in murder case shot dead in Noakhali

Miscreants shot and killed an accused in the murder case named Saheed Ahmed (35) in Sonaimuri Upazila of Noakhali.

The deceased Saheed Ahmad of Deoti Union, Ward No. 8 of Deoti Village, Md. Son of Selim.

On Monday (August 19) around noon, the body was sent to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital morgue for post-mortem.

Earlier, this killing took place in Eidgah area of ​​Deoti village on Sunday night. On receiving the information, the police recovered the body from the spot around 3:30 pm on Sunday and brought it to the police station.

According to police and local sources, the deceased Saheed was a supporter of BNP affiliates. In 2014, a case was filed against him in connection with the murder of a local Milon. Since then he was hiding outside the area for about 10 years. Shahed returned to the area on the news of the change in the country's political situation on August 5. He then allegedly attacked the house of local businessman Humayan, freedom fighter Enayet Ulya and his grandson Kamran. Meanwhile, Humayun broke both legs.

Sources also said that a group of miscreants attacked Saheed in the Eidgah area of ​​Deoti village around 11:00 p.m. on Sunday. He was shot dead and his body dumped on the road.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sonaimuri Police Station. Bakhtiar Uddin said that the deceased Saheed was accused in the murder case. Apart from this, there are several other cases against him in the police station. He was absconding for a long time after the murder case. After August 5, they came back to the area and started robbing, stealing, robbing and attacking people.

OC Bakhtiar also said that the local residents attacked their houses on Sunday night. Later, Saheed's body was found on the road. The police recovered the body and sent it to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
