Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Chairman Prof. Dr. Hafiz Md. Hasan Babu has resigned. On Sunday (August 18) night, he sent his resignation letter to the chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) via e-mail.
Apart from this, copies of the resignation letter have been sent to top officials including the Managing Director of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
Confirming the matter, Acting Managing Director of DSE AGM Satwik Ahmed Shah said, I have received the copy of the resignation letter of the chairman of DSE by e-mail. He sent his resignation letter to BSEC chairman via e-mail.
He also said that a decision will be taken from the BSEC. We will follow the decision taken by BSEC.
Earlier, the DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh (DBA), the organization of members of the institution, demanded the immediate removal of the chairman and independent directors of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) in a press conference on August 12.
