Demonstration on 7-point demand including resignation of Vice-Chancellor in Sikribi

Sylhet Agricultural University (Sikribi) student politics is prohibited, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Jamal Uddin Bhuiyan's resignation including seven points have been demanded.

On Monday (August 19) at 11:30 a.m., anti-discrimination students, teachers, officials and employees held a protest rally in front of the building of the Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Business Education of the University. Earlier, they took a procession around the entire campus.

Their demands are- resignation of the corrupt vice-chancellor, banning of lewd politics of students-teachers-officers-employees in the campus, immediate start of all activities on the campus and opening of the residence hall, opening of student council as soon as possible, allotment of seats in the hall to legitimate students and order to vacate the hall for non-students and those who Prosecution of students who have been harassed by the anti-discrimination movement.

Speakers in the meeting said, those who did not know Bangladesh, they said. Muhammad knows Bangladesh through Yunus. However, the dictatorial government has looted about 60 thousand crore rupees from one Rooppur, he said. He filed a false case against Yunus. When that case was postponed, the ghost of autocracy, Vice-Chancellor Jamal Uddin Bhuiyan protested. He will be judged not only nationally, but internationally as a specter of tyranny.

Speakers also said, we will be able to start the class examination within two to three days after the resignation of the Vice-Chancellor. So we request him to resign immediately.

Before this, the anti-discrimination student movement and students have been protesting for the seven-point demand for the past few days. In view of this, the emergency meeting of the Dean's Council decided to ban student politics on the campus, but as the Vice-Chancellor did not resign and the syndicate meeting was not held, the demands were met and the class activities were stopped.
