Areas with gusts of up to 60 km/h, watch out for river ports

The Meteorological Department has said that there may be temporary gusty winds with a maximum speed of 60 kilometers per hour over 13 regions of the country including Dhaka. This information was given in the weather forecast for the inland river ports of the country till 1 pm on Wednesday (August 21).

It said that rain with gusty winds at a speed of 45 to 60 km per hour from South Southwest direction over Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong and Sylhet regions. Or there may be rain with thunder. The river ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1.

The weather forecast till 6:00 pm has said that light to moderate rain with gusty winds may occur temporarily in most places of Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and in many places of Rangpur division.

Also, there may be moderate to very heavy rains in some parts of the country. Day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country.
