The anti-discrimination student movement is going to launch rescue operations and relief distribution programs in flood-hit districts. They are starting a public fund raising initiative. This information was informed in a circular sent by the coordinator Abu Bakr Majumdar on Wednesday (21 August) night.
It is said that Bangladesh is currently going through a critical situation. Due to the opening of the dams of the upstream rivers coming from India, the southeastern areas of the country including Noakhali, Laxmipur, Comilla, Moulvibazar, Sylhet, Khagrachari have been hit by landslides and floods. At the same time, there is a possibility of flooding in the northern part of the country.
In this context, the anti-discrimination student movement is going to launch rescue operations and relief distribution programs across the country. In order to successfully conduct this program, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement is launching a public fund raising initiative. All student movement coordinators and volunteers are requested to form voluntary groups in their respective districts and upazilas in coordination with local voluntary organizations and the public. The central delegation will coordinate with you to conduct rescue operations and relief distribution activities for the people of the flood-affected areas.
Apart from this, several hotline numbers have been launched for the management of relief activities, safety is assured and the nearest safe shelters have been identified and informed to the people of the concerned areas.
