Case against 81 people including Hasina-Kader in Narsingdi

Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been charged under the Explosives and Murder Act in connection with the killing of a dab seller named Azizul Mia during the anti-discrimination student movement in Narsingdi. In the case, former bridge minister Obaidul Quader, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former IGP and Narsingdi Sadar Constituency MP Nazrul Islam Hiru (Vir Prateek) including 81 leaders and activists of Awami League Jubo League and Chhatra League have been sued.

On Thursday (August 22), the case was filed by the father of the deceased, Almach Mia, in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Nahid Niazi of the district. 81 people have been named in the case and 400-500 others have been named as accused. Azizul Mia is the son of Almach Mia of Baduachar Doripara village of Sadar Upazila.

According to the statement of the case, Azizul was staying at Jailkhana intersection of Narsingdi during the anti-discrimination student movement in the afternoon of July 18. Meanwhile, the accused started firing cocktails at the students in a peaceful position. Meanwhile, multiple bullets pierced Azizul's body. Later, he was rescued in a critical condition and taken to the district hospital, as his condition worsened and he was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He later died at 1 am on July 22 while undergoing treatment in Dubai.

Advocate Kazi Nazrul Islam, the plaintiff's lawyer in the case, said that Almas, the father of the deceased, filed a case against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, including 81 people in the case of his son's murder. The judge directed the officer-in-charge of Sadar Model Police Station to take the case as an FIR.
