Red passports of Sheikh Hasina and former MP-ministers are cancelled

The red passports (diplomatic passports) of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and all her cabinet ministers and MPs have been ordered to be cancelled.

The matter was confirmed in a circular from the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday (August 22).

According to the notification, considering the current context, the security and service department of the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued the following policy in the case of general passport issue on the basis of diplomatic passport revocation (cancellation) and surrender.

(a) former Prime Ministers, former Prime Minister's advisers, former members of the Cabinet, all members of the recently dissolved National Parliament, and all persons who have received diplomatic passports as they are considered eligible for diplomatic passports by virtue of their holding any office, upon the termination of their appointment or tenure in said office; and The diplomatic passports of their spouses must be revoked immediately;

(b) Among the said persons applying for ordinary passports, ordinary passports may be issued in their favor on the basis of the reports of at least two investigating agencies.
