At least 13 districts in the south-eastern part of the country have been flooded due to heavy rains and landslides upstream. Most of these districts are completely cut off from communication. There are fears of further deterioration of the flood situation if there is more heavy rain at this time.

In this situation, the meteorological office gave bad news about the rain. Heavy to very heavy rain has been predicted again from tomorrow Saturday. Meteorologist Md. told the media on Friday (August 23). Manowar Hossain.

He said that from Saturday, heavy rain may occur again in the next 72 hours in the whole country including Feni, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Khagrachari, Rangamati and Cox's Bazar. During this time, rain will continue in India's Tripura, Assam, Nagaland and Meghalaya. It is likely that the flood situation will not improve in three days.

Forecasting the weather, the meteorologist said that the monsoon has spread across India's West Bengal and central Bangladesh to Assam. Due to this, the trend of rain is increasing all over the country. Cox's Bazar received the highest rainfall of 151 mm in the last 24 hours.

Earlier, a weather forecast issued yesterday said that light to moderate rain with temporary gusty/gusty winds will occur at many places in Rangpur, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at some places in Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions during the next 24 hours from 6 pm on Friday. / There may be rain with thunder. Also, there may be moderate to very heavy rains in some parts of the country. As a result, day temperatures across the country may increase slightly and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged.

It is also said that in the next 24 hours from 6 pm on Saturday in most places of Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions. Many places of Rangpur and Sylhet divisions and some places of Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions may experience light to moderate rain/thundershowers with gusty/gusty winds temporarily. Along with this, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country. Besides, the trend of rainfall may reduce in the next five days.

Due to the rains and landslides coming down from India, the flood situation in the south-eastern region is becoming dire. At least several lakh people are affected by flood in 13 districts. They are in trouble due to the sudden flood, houses and roads have been submerged. Many rushed to the shelter empty-handed, unable to get anything out of the house. There is now a shortage of clean water and food in the affected areas.

After next Monday (August 26) the flood situation may improve if the rainfall subsides.
