An amount equivalent to one day's salary of all ranks of Bangladesh Army has been given to the Chief Adviser's Relief Fund in support of the flood victims.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said this in a press release on Friday (August 23).
According to the notification, an amount equivalent to one day's salary of all ranks of army personnel has been given to the Chief Adviser's Relief Fund in support of the flood victims. This money was paid in the service of humanity to help the victims of the recent floods in Feni, Chittagong, Comilla, Noakhali, Sunamganj, Habiganj.
Besides playing an active role in the flood-affected areas, army personnel were directly involved in a great initiative, it was informed by the army.
Incidentally, the number of people affected by floods in 11 districts of the country is about 45 lakh. At the moment, 8 lakh 87 thousand 629 families are water tight. And 13 people have died in this flood so far.
Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief. Kamrul Hasan said that the flood affected districts are Feni, Comilla, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Brahmanbaria, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Khagrachari, Sylhet, Moulvibazar and Habiganj. The army, navy, coast guard, BGB, fire service, members of the police and students of the anti-discrimination student movement are carrying out rescue work in these flood-affected areas.
