Uncle killed by nephew's stabbing in Pabna

An uncle was stabbed to death by his nephew in Shitalpur village of Masumdia union under Aminpur police station of Bara upazila in Pabna.

This incident happened on Friday (August 23) afternoon. Deceased Malu Sheikh (44) son of Bhulai Sheikh of Shitalpur village. There was a family dispute between them over land.

Locals said that there was a dispute over land with Malu Sheikh and his brother Jalal Sheikh Jalu for a long time. As a result of that dispute, a quarrel started between nephew Arif Sheikh and his uncle Malu Sheikh on Friday afternoon. At one stage of the argument, Arif got excited and stabbed his uncle Malu Sheikh in the chest. Relatives rescued Malu Sheikh and took him to the hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Aminpur Police Station Harunur Rashid confirmed the truth of the incident. He said that there was a family dispute between them over land for a long time. The body has been sent to Pabna General Hospital for post-mortem. Legal action is being taken in this regard.
