The NFL can often contain some scary injuries, and the good news is Coleman appears to not have suffered any sort of life-threatening injury.
Coleman recently joined the Bears in Jan. after spending the last three seasons in the CFL with the Ottawa Redblacks.
Coleman was initially signed by the Denver Broncos in 2020 after going undrafted but was released in Sep. 2020. He would find his way to the CFL shortly after.
While with the Redblacks, Coleman initially appeared on the practice roster for the 2021 season. He would be released in June 2022 and resigned to the practice roster shortly after. Despite playing safety, Coleman was transitioned to a linebacker in the 2022 season.
Coleman dealt with multiple injuries in 2022 but secured 18 tackles on defense and one sack in five games.
Despite not getting a real shot on an NFL roster, Coleman was competing for a strong safety role within the Bears’ defense. He appears as fourth on the depth chart behind Jaquan Brisker, Elijah Hicks, and Tarvarius Moore.

The good news is Coleman is happy and healthy, and the hope is he can return to the field soon. However, with training camp wrapping up, he might be on the outs in terms of making the 53-man roster.
Coleman could make his way to the practice squad for the Bears, but he will need to be fully healthy for that to happen.
