In Kurigram's Bhurungamari, although there was no flood, some primary schools were damaged and allotment was reported. Due to the fact that primary schools that were actually affected by floods were not allocated, there is a lot of anger among the teachers of the upazila.
It is known that in the middle of June and the first week of July, Dudfa floods occurred in Bhurungamari for a short period. According to the upazila primary education department, the upazila's Paikdanga Government Primary School, Abdul Karim 15th Saprabi, Shaljor Saprabi, North Dhaldanga Saprabi, East Dhaldanga Saprabi, No. 1 Char Dhaurarkuti Saprabi, No. 2 Char Dhaurarkuti Saprabi and Bharatachhara Government Primary School are closed due to the rise of flood water. is
But the list of flood-damaged schools was changed by the addition of two officials of the Upazila Primary Education Department. Even though there was no damage due to flood, Tk 2 lakh in the name of South Char Baruitari Government Primary School, Tk 1 lakh in the name of West Beldah Government Primary School, Tk 50 thousand in the name of Rham Sapra Vidyalaya of South Bharat, Tk 1 lakh in the name of No. 2 Paikerchara Supra Vidyalaya and 30 thousand in the name of Char-Bhurungamari Supra Vidyalaya. Allotment of Rs.
Several teachers, who did not want to be named, said that it is not only the flood that when any development allocation comes, the list given by some oilmen and brokers head teachers passes the application without any investigation and the education office arranges the allocation. Later, in coordination with those head teachers, they shared the allocated money and worked in name-calling and all of them looted the government money.
The teachers also said that if a list of damages is requested after any disaster, the upazila primary education officer and staff send the school list to their loyal teachers every time. In fact, most of them suffered no damage at all.
West Beldah Government School is about five kilometers from the flood area. An on-site visit to the school found no evidence of damage. A teacher, who did not want to be named, told this reporter that our school is in a high area. There was no flood here. There is no question of damages. However, the head teacher took an allocation of 1 lakh rupees after showing the flood damage.
Tofail Hossain, the head teacher of the school, said that the toilet tank of the school was destroyed by flood water.
On the surface, the headmaster could not be found when he went to the South Char Baruitari Government Primary School. After being harassed after finding signs of damage in the flood, the residents said that the water had risen in the school grounds but there was no flood like damage. The floor of the old tin shed was already broken. Showing that it was damaged in the flood, the headmaster brought an allocation of 2 lakh rupees in the name of the school with the help of the office. But local residents and teachers do not know anything about this. Even before this, despite the allocation of money for small repairs, slips, no repair work has been seen.
In this regard, the head teacher Ruhul Amin said that the flood water had entered the school and informed the office verbally. I don't know anything about the allotment coming.
When asked about the irregularity, Upazila Primary Education Officer Akhtarul Islam said, I am in Dhaka for a three-day training. After talking to them about the complaint.
