Sheikh Hasina's time in India is running out due to cancellation of her red passport.

Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled the country on August 5 in the face of student protests. He took refuge in India that day. He has already spent three weeks in India. In the meantime, the Bangladesh government has canceled the red passports of all the diplomats of her government including Sheikh Hasina.

Indian media Hindustan Times reported that since Hasina's red passport was revoked; So (as per rule) his stay in India is running out.

A Bangladesh government source said Sheikh Hasina had only a red passport when she fled the country. There was no ordinary green passport.

According to India's visa policy, Bangladeshis holding diplomatic red passports can enter India without a visa and stay for a maximum of 45 days.

Sheikh Hasina has spent 20 days in India till Saturday (August 24). As a result, his legal stay in India will end after only 25 days. Then he will become invalid.

The Hindustan Times also reported that Sheikh Hasina's risk of extradition from India to Bangladesh has increased due to the cancellation of her diplomatic passport. 51 cases have been filed against Hasina so far. Out of which 42 murder cases. He will be prosecuted in these cases.

The issue of Sheikh Hasina's extradition will fall under the extradition treaty signed between Bangladesh and India in 2013.

The agreement was revised in 2016. It is said that if the accused is accused of a case made for political considerations, the extradition or return of the accused person can be refused. But in this agreement the issue of murder case is clearly kept out of political consideration.

In addition, two countries can refuse to extradite the accused even if the case is 'made with the intention of not doing justice'.
