Case against 7 journalists including Sheikh Hasina

Student Naeem Howlader (17) was shot dead at Jatrabari in the capital during the anti-discrimination student movement. 193 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and seven journalists have been booked in this incident.

In the case, 80-90 police officers and members on duty in Wari zone on the day of the incident and 250-300 unidentified persons have been made accused.

The journalists named in the statement of the case are former news chief of Ektar Television Shakil Ahmed and former chief reporter-presenter Farzana Rupa, managing director of Ektar TV Mozammel Babu, former news chief of Ektar TV Syed Ishtiaq Reza, managing director and CEO of Samam TV Ahmed Zobair, ATN News. Former news chief Munni Saha and former Prime Minister's press secretary Naeemul Islam Khan.

Among them, Shakeel Ahmed and Farzana Rupa are currently on four-day remand. Their arrest was shown in the murder case of garment worker Fazlul Karim in Uttara area of ​​the capital. These two were detained from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka last Wednesday.

Cases are being filed one after another against Sheikh Hasina and many of her party's leaders and activists and members of the law and order forces in connection with the killings of the law and order forces during the anti-discrimination student movement. ists are also being named in some cases.

Adviser on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs of the Interim Government, Professor Asif Nazrul told the media that we cannot stop the guardian of a murdered student from filing a case as per his discretion. Such pouring cases were made into an established culture by the previous government. Maybe we are seeing its rays now. But we will ensure that no one is harassed without proper investigation.
